Record it, cut it, export it — without leaving Chrome.
A fast screen recorder and video editor for tutorials, demos and guides. Record a tab, window or screen, or upload a video you already have, and AI drafts the edit in minutes — cuts, auto zoom, annotations, captions and narration — as suggestions you accept or reject. Then render an MP4 in the browser. No cloud rendering, no account.
What it does
Everything except turning an edit into a high-resolution, unmarked file is free and unlimited. A licensed export is the paid act.
| Feature | What it means | Tier |
|---|---|---|
| Screen, window or tab capture | Chrome's own picker, your choice of frame rate and codec. The controller is a floating window, so it never squeezes the page you are recording. | Free |
| Upload any video | Bring in a video you made earlier and let AI do the first edit. Uploaded videos have no click log, so the AI does the drafting; you review and adjust. Needs your own OpenRouter key. | Free |
| Non-destructive editing | Trims, cuts with transitions, speed, fades, captions and panels. The master is never touched — the edit is a document over it. | Free |
| Cursor and clicks | The pointer is drawn back in cleanly, and every click is logged with the label of what it hit — which is what the annotation drafts are built from. | Free |
| Camera moves | Pan and zoom over the frame, drafted automatically from where the pointer actually went, then adjusted by hand. | Free |
| Webcam bubble | Your camera over the recording, positioned and sized in the editor, with its own audio. | Free |
| Narration | Record voiceover clips against the take, per clip, with the take's own audio ducked underneath. | Free |
| AI assist | A vision model watches the take and suggests cuts, annotations, camera moves and panels — as suggestions you accept or reject one at a time, never as an edit made for you. Also writes a tutorial or description of the video. Required for uploaded videos; optional for tab recordings. Bring your own OpenRouter key. | Free |
| AI narration | The model writes a voiceover script you can edit line by line, then reads it aloud. Same key; separate layer from your own narration, so you can have both. | Free |
| Captioning | Word-timed captions made from your narration or the take's own audio, with the spoken word highlighted. Burned into the export, or saved as a separate .srt or .vtt file. Edit any line. Uses your own AI key. | Free |
| Save the raw take | The untouched capture, straight out, at any time. | Free |
| Export MP4 (free) | Renders the edit — cuts, camera, annotations, cursor, webcam, captions and narration — to an MP4 in the browser. 720p quality, with a small "Cool Easy Cut" watermark. Ten free exports; no ffmpeg, no upload. | Free |
| Export MP4 (licensed) | The same render with no watermark, at higher resolution — up to 4K, depending on your recording — and cleared for commercial use of the exported video. Size and quality controls. | £99 + tax, once |
Pricing
One price, paid once. There is no subscription and there never will be.
Tax is added at checkout at your local rate — Stripe handles it as merchant of record.
- Ten free exports first. Enough runs to judge the workflow on real work before paying. Free exports are 720p and carry a small "Cool Easy Cut" mark; a licence unlocks exports up to 4K (depending on your recording), unmarked, with commercial use included. The count is on screen the whole time.
- A key, not an account. No sign-up, no password, no profile. Paste the key in, press Activate.
- Every computer you own. No seats to manage, nothing to free up before activating elsewhere.
- Works offline, permanently. The key is checked on your machine against a signature. Nothing is ever sent anywhere — including if this site disappears years from now.
- It does not expire. Nothing to renew.
Private unless you choose to use AI
Takes and edits live in the browser's own storage. There is no cloud rendering and no account to hold them. If you record a browser tab and don't use an AI model, everything stays on your machine.
AI is your call. If you use an AI model, the model you select may be able to see your video: it receives frames from the take. Caption generation sends the audio of the narration or recording to a speech-to-text model. You can run a model locally, or skip AI and edit and annotate a tab recording by hand. Uploaded videos need an AI model to edit. Requests go straight from your browser to the provider you configure, with your own key, and only when you ask for a suggestion or captions.
Licence checks are done offline against a signature; the only thing the extension fetches from us is a small public list of refunded keys, once a day, with nothing about you in the request.
Removing the extension deletes your takes with it. Export or save anything you want to keep.
Questions
- What do I need to run it?
- Chrome 116 or later. Exporting MP4 needs Chrome 130 or later, which is when Chrome learned to write MP4 directly.
- Is it on the Chrome Web Store yet?
- Not yet — that is what "launching soon" means here. This page will carry the listing link the day it is live.
- Do I need an AI subscription?
- No subscription to us, but AI needs your own OpenRouter key, billed by them, not us. Editing an uploaded video requires it. Recording a browser tab does not: the click log drafts the edit and the rest works without a key.
- How long does an export take?
- Real time — a three minute take takes three minutes, because playback is what drives the encoder.
- What happens if I lose my key?
- It is shown on screen right after checkout as well as emailed, and the success page can send it again. Failing that, email us.
- Who am I actually paying?
- Stripe. They are the merchant of record for this purchase, which is who handles the payment and the tax.
